Shelstad named Most Outstanding Player; '22 CCC breaks all-time Attendance Records

SALEM, OR - Saturday, 12-23-22 - The 7th annual Capitol City Classic presented by Northwestern Mutual broke all-time attendance records and was the best event in tournament history along a number of measures.

The '22 field -- featuring Modesto Christian (CA), St. John Bosco (CA) and John Paul II (TX) from out of state and in-state powers like West Linn, Beaverton, Gresham and more -- did not disappoint, and the amazing talent on display was reflected by large nightly crowds.

Oregon commit and Tournament MOP Jackson Shelstad led West Linn to the Johnny Leonard Trophy with a 60-57 win over St. John Bosco and 5-star guard Elzie Harrington; Modesto Christian (CA) behind the electric play of San Diego State commit BJ Davis edged West Salem for 3rd place; Beaverton nipped Wilsonville 58-57 for 4th; while Gresham defeated Central for 5th place.
