Skyview Storm (WA) take home the 2017 CCC championship!

Skyview Storm (WA), 2017 CCC Champions

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - Skyview Storm (WA) 66, Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (CA) 63.The 2017 CCC tournament delivered scintillating high school hoops across all 5 days, and the championship game surely did not disappoint. In a back-and-forth battle that came down to a last-second 3PT shot by Mater Dei (CA) sharpshooter senior Josh Tawhiao, the Skyview Storm (WA) emerged as champions. Led by the combination of their silky smooth junior point guard Alex Schumacher (28 pts) and sharp-shooting rim protector senior Samaad Hector, Skyview got enough stops and knocked down their free throws to seal the deal and defeat the defending CCC champs of Mater Dei Catholic. Sophomore Beon Riley led the Crusaders with 28 points.

3RD PLACE GAME - Silverton Foxes 65, Woodcreek Timberwolves (CA) 29.

In our 3rd place bout between Silverton and Woodcreek (CA), the Foxes caught fire early from deep and never looked back. With even scoring from Levi Nielsen (13), Josiah Roth (12), David Gonzales (12), and Cade Roth (10), Silverton broke through the defenses of Woodcreek. Chris Cagle led the T'Wolves with 10 points.

We at the CCC, count ourselves extremely fortunate to host such well-coached and respectable programs like Skyview (WA), Mater Dei Catholic (CA), Woodcreek (CA), and Red Mountain (AZ)! Four games in five days and each team fought with everything they had. The basketball junkies of Salem were blessed by the quality of hoops you all brought!
