Fun Fact:             The Eagles will attempt to

be the first team to ever

                             win back-to-back CCC

                             titles in 2021.

Rancho Christian (Temecula, California) returns to the Capitol City Classic to defend the crown they earned at the last tourney in 2019...  In recent years the Eagles have been ranked # 1 in California (2019), been a Top 10 team in the country (2019), won the CIF Open Division 2 times, and won the Damien Classic (2019) in addition to the CCC... Gone to graduation and now the NBA is 7'0 Evan Mobley, but Rancho should have plenty of firepower to contend for the CCC crown, starting with 6'11 junior post Martin Gumwel, a native of the Sudan... What Gumwel gives the Eagles inside, is supplemented by the perimeter skills of athletic 6'5 wing Jordan Brown, 6'4 wing Messiah Mcteer, and 5'11 guard Micahiah Hankins...  Rancho is fast, versatile and plays with great ball movement, among other strengths...  "This team can make a push to be a contender for D1 in CIF," says Coach Barefield.  "We are about 8 to 9 deep with good skill , experience and leadership." That could be bad news for the rest of the CCC field...
