first-ever trophy (4th)
at State
West Salem won 15 games and finished second in the Mountain Valley Conference last year, and with the returners they have in the program they look to make a return to the state tournament in 2019-20... The Titans like to get out and run... "We play a fast tempo," said Coach Travis Myers, "and like to be attacking on the offensive end. We like to giver our players space to work and find a match-up that we can win." The Titans have players with a high basketball IQ, and they have multiple guys who can score. Coach Myers believes this group is extremely hard-working in all areas on the court and off, and that will pay dividends for his team... Team leaders are Justin Scoggin and Alec Dyson, with Scoggin being an athletic shooter who is attracting college attention... At the CCC, West wants to go as deep as possible on the championship side of the bracket.... The Titans have played in the finals of the CCC (2016), and they want to compete at that level this year... "If we create some depth and players progress offensively from last year," commented Myers, "we have a chance to contend for a conference championship and play in meaningful playoff games."
